My name is Jeanette Rivas and I am excited to be your counselor at ACRMA8. This is my 9th year at middle 8! I’ve enjoyed working with middle school students. At this age they are going through a lot of changes and I love that we are here to see them grow and reach their potential. 

I was a first generation college student. I attended CSUDH and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Masters degree from CSULB. As a middle school counselor, I believe it is never too early to talk to our students about the opportunities they have. Some of my favorite events that we host for students are taking them to a college field trip tour and career day. 

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family. I was not into sports as a child but I enjoy taking my kids to their sporting events and practice with them. I also like to travel with my family.

Hello I am Yesenia Hernandez, one of the school counselors at ACRMA8.This is my first year at ACRMA8 and I am so excited to get to meet and work with everyone. I am extremely happy to be here and support the scholars with any personal/social and academic issues they may face throughout their journey at ACRMA8. 

I am a first generation college student. I graduated from CSULA with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology. Shortly after, I completed my Masters Degree in Clinical and Educational Counseling at Azusa Pacific University. 

I enjoy my free time by going out and exploring new restaurants, national parks, and coffee shops. Some of my hobbies include doing acrylic and gel-x nails along with roller blading.

Mi nombre es Jeanette Rivas y estoy emocionada de ser su consejera en ACRMA8. ¡Este es mi noveno año en Middle 8! He disfrutado trabajando con estudiantes de secundaria. A esta edad están pasando por muchos cambios y me encanta que estemos aquí para verlos crecer y alcanzar su potencial.

Yo era un estudiante universitario de primera generación. Asistí a CSUDH y obtuve una licenciatura en Psicología y una maestría de CSULB. Como consejera de escuela intermedia, creo que nunca es demasiado temprano para hablar con nuestros estudiantes sobre las oportunidades que tienen. Algunos de mis eventos favoritos que organizamos para los estudiantes son llevarlos a una excursión universitaria y a un día profesional.

Fuera del trabajo, me encanta pasar tiempo con mi familia. No me gustaban los deportes cuando era niña, pero disfruto llevar a mis hijos a sus eventos deportivos y practicar con ellos. También me gusta viajar con mi familia.

Hola a todos, soy la Srta. Hernández, una de las consejeras escolares de ACRMA8. Este es mi primer año en ACRMA8 y estoy muy emocionado de conocer a todos. Estoy muy feliz de estar aquí y apoyar a los académicos con cualquier problema personal/social y académica que puedan enfrentar a lo largo de su viaje en ACRMA8. 

Soy una estudiante universitaria de primera generación. Me gradué de CSULA con una licenciatura en Kinesiología. Poco después, completé mi Maestría en Consejería Clínica y Educativa en la Universidad de Azusa Pacific. 

Disfruto de mi tiempo libre saliendo y explorando nuevos restaurantes, parques nacionales y cafeterías. Algunas de mis aficiones incluyen hacer uñas acrílicas y gel-x y también patinar.
