I was born and raised in Houston, TX. I have lived in Los Angeles for 7 years working as a teacher and working on a Masters Degree in Applied Anthropology. My graduate school research includes working to create classrooms and curricula that are inclusive to all types of students, and I am so happy to be at ACRMA8 with all of you!
My teaching style involves student-centered learning and projects that allow students to be expressive and explore different mediums. I aim to foster a learning environment where we all learn from each other, treat each other with respect, and celebrate our strengths and differences.
Some interesting things about me:
I love to read. I prefer to read non-fiction, and you all will be reading a lot of non-fiction in Middle School Success with me this year!
My favorite color is purple.
I have a dog named Rahsko.
I love spending time outdoors – hiking, going to the beach or park with my dog, camping, roller skating, and long distance running.
