On May 1, 2018, ACRMA8 parents engaged in discourse around forming an English Learner Advisory Committee composed of 51% or more parents of English Learners (EL) or designating the School Coordinating Council to function as the advisory committee. Parents voted for the ELAC to be formed, which is in line with California Education Code 52176, which requires each school with twenty-one or more English Learners establish an ELAC. The ELAC is an advisory committee which advises the school on programs and services to EL students and on strategies to engage parents in support of their child’s education.
During the 2019-2020 school year, ELAC meetings will be held on the following dates:
ACRMA8 plans to develop parent leadership and grow the ELAC in 2019-2020. The ELAC will include the following officers:
